New Stage Lighting Controller

The first of hopefuly a number of purchases to overhaul and upgrade the school's Stage Facilities. This area is valuable resources for drama productions, music concerts, assemblies and meetings. This controller is designed with shows in mind. It has a built in Visualiser allowing the students involved to design their lighting rigs from the comfort of their own PCs or those of the school's and to see a a full animated computer model of the stage and show before uploading it to the master console for use on the night.

Science Dishwasher

The school is commited to practical, engaging lessons. In Science this means generating alot of dirty glassware. To make matters worse the acidic nature of many of the chemicials and materials used during practical experiments mean the dishwashers have a shorterned life. The Holcombe Association were able to step in and pay for a replacement when one recently reached the point where it could wash no more!

PE Washing Machine

The school has teams representing every sport disicipline that is taught plus a few that are not. This means a lot of smelly, often muddy team kit, especially for the Winter teams such as Rugby and Football. This kit has to be cleaned after every match, often in time for a game a few days latter. Domestic machines simply cannot handle the volume of kit (and mud!) that the sports team produce and so the Holocombe Association were approached to help purchase an Industrial Washer.

Minibus

The school's fleet of minibuses are a significant resource used by many areas of the school, not just the PE Department. In addition to the use the Sports teams make of them to and from games, they help keep the cost of many trips down where a Coach would otherwise be needed. Residential camping trips, Geography field trips and Language Masterclasses are just a few areas of the school that benefit from access to this resource. The latest addition to the fleet is a brand new 17-seat bus with a number of mobility improvements for the benefit of the passengers and driver. The Holcombe Association raised £ 10,000 towards the purchase cost.
